Ok...so, new diabetic cat here, started insulin I guess Wed at vet, stayed over night there...antibiotics, fluids, sugar was 199 I think (or maybe it was 299). Anyhow....he's getting lots of wet food, limited dry food except for when he ate through the bag the other night and free ate all night. He's only had one poop since coming home, is eating fine still, but his stomach looks a little puffy. How concerned do I need to be? Should I cut the dry food in an attempt to get him to poop? Please tell me I don't have to rush him to the ER. He's been so expensive this week and I'm not sure how much more I can afford. His behavior is completely normal, so I don't think it's an obstruction. Ugh.

If he's eating OK, he's probably not obstructed....that's painful and most cats aren't interested in eating when they're sick or in pain

If you don't get some results in the litter box soon, you might try adding a little pumpkin to his food (plain, not pumpkin pie filling) or a lot of people here use Miralax to help pull water into the stool and make it easier to pass.....about 1/8th teaspoon twice a day (you can mix with food) .....add extra water to his food too to help keep him well hydrated

Just checked the litter box and all is well. I'm literally watching him like a hawk right now, so I think I'm going to freak out about everything for a bit yet. He was SO SICK this week, I was terrified I was going to have to put him down. But I think I'm just over reacting. Whew.
