Hi- just wondering-next Wednesday I will be away from home from 2 pm to 1 am. I normally give the lantus shot at 9 pm.

Berkeley Girl is not regulated.

I have missed shots cause I flubbed the injection and vet always advised to just "carry on" and wait until the next normal shot time.

Assume that is the best to do in this case when I will not be home? No one else available to give shot and at 9 pm can not be getting hired folks either. (In hind site I can see it may have been a good idea to schedule the shots around the local vet office's hours cause I could get workers coming and going from their jobs!)

It is difficult sometimes to always be there on time for that shot!!! If it were my sugar - I would not give a shot. Some may advise a decreased shot but I don't know with you then turning around and giving another one at the regular time which would be at +9 the next morning. Lantus really works best with consistent dosing.

Luckily, I have a neighbor whom I can call to go in and shoot. My BF will do it also. I hope you can find somebody in the future to help you out.

Since it's just the one shot, I would write it off as a "fur shot" and skip it. If it were to be a regular occurrence, you would definitely want to figure something out, but a one-time miss won't mess things up too badly.
