Our weekend went like this...
Friday 7am 176 - shot 0.25U
Didn't rise until Saturday 10AM (+27 hours) 167 - shot 0.25U
Then didn't rise until Sunday 11PM (+37 hours) 166 - shot 0.25U
So he is going in general >24 hours without needing a shot.
SO 2 questions - I assume this means his pancreas is working some of the time?? (since the insulin only lasts 8-12 hours in the system??)
My biggest problem is this - I have to fly out of the country for an interview. I made the trip as short as possible (will be away from home for about 37 hours total)
I have a pet sitter who I taught to give shots, but isn't comfortable testing. I was going to leave pre-loaded needles, but that was when he was realiably on 2 shots a day, 12 hours apart.
I have no idea when he'll be shootable between wednesday night and when I leave thursday morning (if he happens to be shootable thursday morning that will be great because he probably wouldn't need a shot until friday night when I get home anyways)
I am assuming regardless it will be best to just leave him with no shots and hope for the best?!
