? No shot tonight Teal'c wouldn't eat

Teal'c has been running high lately. Not sure the cause.

This morning the shih tzu vomited. Teal'c seemed fine ate good but still running high. Then this afternoon around an hour before shot time since I have to work I was setting up the food for my husband for Teal'c's feeding at shot time. I smelled what can only be described sewer gas. In the kitchen I find diarrhea looks to have blood in it. I figure it was the shih tzu since she did get sick this mornin. I call the vet and they have me give her a teaspoon of peptol bismol every 3 to 4 hours. I tell husband to give her some more before he goes to bed and how much insulin to give Teal'c. Head for work. Worried about Gizmo.

At 5:54 he text me telling me that Teal'c won't eat and should he still give shot. I call him he said Teal'c was just laying in the window and has no interest in eating ask about giving the shot I told him no.

Now I'm double worried can a dog and cat share a stomach issue? It just seems odd that Guzmo was throwing up and the diarrhea and now Teal'c won't eat. What if Gizmo wasn't the one with the bloody bowel movement. So worried.

That's a good team work you and your husband has. Of course not if not eating no insulin shot.

Can't the vet have you collect poo at home from each in those pre-poo collect things and you drop off at the vets so they can analyze. Bloody stools are really to be taken serious. It takes a bit trained eye to different from which intestine part blood comes from. Dark blood in poo comes from the higher intestine tract, clearer red from the latter intestine tract. And their causes can be different.

No blood in vomit little food liquid first time, next time was foam and last time was the peptol bismol and and then she shook her head and splattered pink stuff all over the coffee table. This from the shih tzu

The blood in stool was dark. Just worried it might be something serious. And then Teal'c not wanting to eat after the dog got sick worried this is something that has affected Teal'c as well. Thinking I need to leave work no emergency vets here but they both have me worried sick.

I think they'll be fine over the night and you can talk to a vet tomorrow after you have sleept some.

Just to be safe, test Teal'c for ketones. Not eating and then skipped shot is a time to test. Dual tummy upsets from some kind of bug is not likely. Any chance they both ate something they shouldn't?

He is running high. Could just be normal ups and downs, but having Teal'c checked for signs of infection when you can would also be a good idea.

Everyone is good today. No ketones. Hate when the fur babies are sick especially when they can't tell you what is wrong.
