No shot since 6/25 numbers in mid-high 100s opinion?

Oreo is doing well. His coat is clearing up and he is hanging out with us some. I am not sure we couldn't make him feel better but his numbers are in a range where I simply do not know what to do. He is hanging around 150-170 BG. (I have an alphatrack meter.) The last few shots he had were at .2U. Suggestions? I have been inconsistent with the testing as of late. If more info would help, I can harass him some. Thanks all.

He is grazing during the day but at night we don't leave a lot of food out. And from the looks of her, his sister eats most of that. ;)

You might check about 2 hours past the morning feed to see if he spikes from eating or not, and then about 4 hours after that to see if it comes down at all. If yes, there is some pancreas action. If no, he may need a drop or two of insulin.

Seems like two choices. Push it and start giving drops when he reaches a number you consider safe to shoot. That looks like it is going to be a pretty low number so you'd have to be able to monitor carefully and bring him up with food as needed. And a drop is literally a drop. You pull up as little as you can measure, push it out and count the drops. To dose, you pull up to the same spot and let put all the drops but one. Second choice is to wait it out. Be sure to dose when he is high enough but plan on him surfing along in that 170 range till he decides to go OTJ.

Both should work. One is harder than the other, and scarier but probably faster.

Have you checked out the spreadsheets of people in the remission thread? They all used different techniques to go OTJ.

We ran out of all but one can of cat food, it was a Friskies turkey grill with gravy (13%carbs). I didn't realize that Oreo had gotten it until was largely gone- 1/4 of the can was left; apparently it was very yummy. His sugar went up to 248. By this evening, his sugar was back down in his general range of 168. Does this give anyone any ideas on how to handle him? Still trying to decide if we should try little drops of insulin. Even if I start dropping him down a little more, I will not be doing it till August. I am getting really close to delivering a baby and don't want to rock the boat until his Dad or I can watch him carefully. The person who caring for all siblings, furry and non-furry, is not a cat person and I would NOT let them inject.
