No PM shot but BG dropped

+12 was 125 too low for me too shoot. So I fed him and checked again an hour later. + 13 was 122.......is that weird?
 
Sometimes you get longer duration than expected. It happens. You were right now to give him insulin with that low a number. How is he doing today? Did you check his BG a bit later last night? Just curious as to any pattern you saw.
 
I didn't check him after the +13 last night. I had to push his shot a few hours the other night because his bg was too low, so he was on a late schedule. It was already 1am. but his amps was only 185 this morning. I bought some U100s incase I needed to give less than 1U. Yes I printed a conversion chart. I didn't give him a shot this morning. I probably should have, but didn't have any advice at the time and I wasn't sure what to do since he was still under 200. He'll just get his PM shot early tonight and hopefully we'll get back on schedule.
 
Considering the blues and greens Kit has been throwing recently, the Sophisticats diet change might be helping.

Personally, I used this guideline: http://petdiabetes.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_glucose_level to make my choices about when I would ever consider Peeps going back on insulin when she became diet controlled. If he is dipping down during the day without shots to a good green number, you might want to consider a very very low dose to help him heal. Maybe in a few weeks you'll be one of the lucky honeymooners!
 
Oh definitely, don't get me wrong, I'm glad he is staying on the blues on his own!! But when you get to those lower numbers, I'm not sure what to shoot. I was thinking .5U but wanted someone to back me up on the dosage, I'm still pretty new to the dance. I know the lower numbers are a good thing, I think it surprised me that his numbers got so good after such a short time. He is almost off the kitty crack. Only about 5 pieces on top of his wet. I got my fortiflora in the mail today, so I'ma try that tonight and see if we can eliminate the kitty crack all together. Then I'll def have to watch his dosage! I'm just hoping to get and keep some simblance of a schedule!
