Lucy has been off insulin for 10 days now. She was only on for one week (changed diet, insulin for seven days, then a glucose curve). Thank everyone for teaching me the techniqe and importance of home testing. I've been testing Lucy every other day, her levels are 84,54,54, 158 — this was at the vet, I had to take her in for another urine sample, tiny bit of UTI remains, and vet wants her to finish a third week of Clavamox. Then back to nice readings of 54, 80, 84.

It is ridiculous, I freak out every time she goes to the water bowl. She's feeling great (for 12 years old and overweight).

What's your advice?

Thak you!

When Bob was coming off the ju*ce I kept testing him twice a day. Random times. Even now I'm checking every other day. He still likes it. Means a special treat!

I test Prop once a week. She has been of insulin since february and I have slowly ended on once a week. But if I see a sign, more drinking or if I think she looks a bit skinny, then I quickly test, mostly to reasure that I dont have to worry. Today she got in my other cats dryfood and I have tested 3 times, just to see how much the bg changed and to tjek that it got down to an ok level again.
