Dr. Lisa's web site has tips:

Instead of the dry DM, you can feed a better quality dry food such as Innova EVO or Nature's Variety Instinct. The ingredients in DM Is really poor junk food-like quality. And do keep trying to get your cat to at least eat some canned food. Some canned food in the diet is better than no canned at all, IMO.
Have you tried a little FortiFlora mixed into a teeny amount of canned, hidden in dry food or not? FortiFlora is really appetizing to cats. You can buy FortiFlora from the vet or online like at PetFoodDirect.com
Does your cat like freeze dried meat treats? If so, then maybe a diet of freeze dried or dehydrated raw food is an option. Not all freezde dried raw foods are nutritionally complete, though. Some are only supplements (no essential vitamins/minerals) so be sure to read the package.
Stella and Chewy's is one good brand to try.
For dehydrated raw pet food, try
The Honest Kitchen's Prowl,
Addiction Pet Food Wild Brustail and Berries Entree (contains tapioca which some diabetics may be ensitive to and bgs may be affected). With dehydrated raw foods, you mix a certain amount of the powdered food with a certain amount of water, mix and let sit for a few minutes to rehydrate, and then feed. You can add more water to make it sort of soupy/gravy like which may be more appealing.
Note: none of these dehydrated raw foods are on the food charts so carb content is unknown. Based on the ingredients, they look pretty low in carbs but don't feed them if you don't want to take a chance with high bgs.
There is also
ZiwiPeak Air Dried Cusine which is dehydrated raw food but it comes in kibble-like pieces. No rehydration is needed. ZiwiPeak is very expensive, about $15 for a 14 ounce bag
