Nigel getting the help he needs

Things may be looking up for Nigel now. I know that I feel a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I do not have to sit here watching him be so miserable and sick, unable to enjoy eating---he LOVES food. He was seen by his new Vet, severely dehydrated. And after a very lengthy conversation, it was decided that the place Nigel needed to be was the emergency clinic where he could get critical care 24/7 with IV fluids, bloodwork and anything else that needed to be done. He was still still bright eyed during the entire ordeal of being poked and prodded and a little vocal at being in his carrier for so long. This leads me to have a little more hope now. I know that his kidneys will never run perfectly again but it will allow him more time to enjoy his life and to eat. THANK YOU to all who were there with good wishes, compassion and suggestions for us. I know he is not out of the woods, but he is exactly where he needs to be. Where he should have been earlier in the week. Will keep you posted. If I have missed anything, Dian, please fill them in!

I am so glad to know he is getting IV fluids and is at a 24/7 clinic. Sending prayers for a good response and that Nigel is soon home with you.

Dearest Lorraine,

Echoing Hope, as I too am beyond glad Nigel is where he needs to be...

Please know I'm keeping you both close in my heart, thoughts, and prayers.

Please update us when you can. But, for now, get some sleep, dearest Lorraine. Nigel's going to need you when he comes home...

Much love and countless hopeful, healing hugs,
Deb and Nikki -- and, Giz, forever dancing in my heart...

nothing to add to Lorraines report BUT I must say. I am very impressed with the knowledge and info lorraine received form members here. The new vet and the ER vet echoed exactly what everyone told her. so I thank you
her new vet spent over an hour explaining and answering questions from her and deb and I. he was very nice and one did not feel rushed with him. Nigel was still very vocal at times and played a nice game of POP goes the weasel. I think deb will be posting a pic over on FB.
Nigel has a chance. Please keep him in your prayers
thanks everyone

Oh, and Dian and Lorraine forgot to mention...Lorraine's new vet actually gave her HIS phone number in case she had any questions for him. Now, that's a good vet!!!! Nigel is just the sweetest boy! I am sending the most positive of vines for the little man and hoping that he will be back in his mom's arms and home soon.

that's right Deb, and folks, it was his home phone cause he is off for the next few days. now how about that.!!! he is a keeper, I think
