My cat Morgan was just diagnosed. Her presentation is unusual though. She has gained 4 lbs is just a few months instead of losing weight. Blood glucose 268, urine 3+. Is this unusual?

Yes, weight gain is unusual. Normally, regular feline diabetics lose weight; cats with insulin resistance issues often gain weight.
Would you be able to provide some details on your cat?
What brought you to the vet and what testing did your vet do?
What are you feeding your cat?
Have you started any insulin yet, and what was mentioned by your vet?
Where are you located - city/state-province/country?

How is your cat acting at the moment?

I am sorry to hear about your cat being diagnosed, but you will find many people who want to help. I am relatively new to FD, my cat being diagnosed in March, in remission in April and relapsed in August. Everything I have seen says most cats lose weight, but my cat, Missy gained, so while it is not typical, it DOES happen. She has been steadily losing (at a safe rate) since getting her to accept wet cat food. Once we got some insulin in to her and GOOD food, she stopped begging for food and continues to lose.
Good luck with your kitty, and while this is not fun, nor easy, at first, it IS manageable.
