Hi I'm Mandy and Callie is my kitty. We are new and still learning as much as we can. I have been giving Callie 2 units 2 times a day of the PZI Insulin. We started testing a couple weeks ago but at first I was having an awful time getting blood from her ear. I was shown a picture of where to rest and we are having better luck. I'm feeding her fancy feast classics one in morning and one 12 hours later and her sugar stay quite high at 400. I feel like I still have soo much to learn and thankfully Callie has been patient with me as we are both getting used to it all. At first everything was soo overwhelming but everyone has been soo helpful in answering my questions and helping me out! I was wondering how many times a day I should be testing and should I be doing it before or after eating?

Hi Mandy - welcome to the Prozinc forum
You should be testing before each insulin shot and 1-2 times in the middle of the cycle (typically at the nadir about 5-7 hours) - basically, each time before you give insulin, you test Callie, then you feed Callie, and then you give insulin. Don't feed Callile in the two hours before the test or it may falsely elevate the blood sugar. At the top of the Prozinc forum home page are some yellow "stickies" including a protocol, and a guide for newbies.
How much does Callie weight (just trying to see if 2 cans of FF is enough)? There are links to how to test from the ears - it will get easier - one trick is to warm the ear first.
Why don't you read the stickies and then ask any and all questions you may have. Starting a spreadsheet will also help (instructions in the stickies)
again, welcome
