I would like to order the newbie kit. Is paypal the only payment method? Also, since Jessie is not under the care of any vet, I really feel I need to be doing more than just switching food for now. Should I buy ketone strips and check her urine? This is how she was diagnosed, but I don't know the numbers.

Is your kitty on insulin?

Ketone strips are a good idea - if kitty has ketones -- a trip to the vet is needed ASAP, as it can become life-threatening fast.
 
Jessie is not on insulin. She was just diagnosed. The vet that sees her brother let me bring a urine sample in. The vet doesn't do house calls. And Jessie's previous owner impressed upon me that it is impossible to get her to a vet. After reading how it would affect her BG, I am trying to avoid the stress it may put upon her. I am hoping to home test and then find a vet that would prescribe insulin. Anyone living nearby who would be willing to help me help her through this?
 
where are you located? just general area, no street address or anything as this is the internet. if someone is close by, that info can be shared via phone or private message
 
how far away is wilmington mileage/time wise would you say? Venita is in Wilmington and if that's too far away maybe she'll know who is closer
