Hi all, new here, just kind of reading up on all the posts, and seeing if anyone here in Ottawa, Ontario Canada is using Levemir for diabetes treatment in Felines? Please let me know, thanks. Everything I have read up on it, seems to be the best way to go.

Hello and welcome. I know some members in Canada have had difficulty finding vets to prescribe Levemir and Lantus. Vets in Canada seem to like cansulin which is basically a bad insulin for cats. I have heard some members say you don't need a prescription for insulin in some provinces. I will see if I can get you someone from Canada. I am literally out of my territory here.

In Ontario you can buy Lantus or Levemir over the counter at a human pharmacy with no prescription.
