Hi everyone. I am new here. My cat, Sue, was diagnosed with feline diabetes on Oct. 7 and we are really struggling to get his levels under control. I am seeking the help of Dr. Pierson. Sue is my baby cat. He (a boy named Sue) is 6.5 years old and the sweetest cat ever. To make matters a bit tougher, I have an older female diagnosed with CKD in late July 2010. Thanks for listening!

Welcome! You are in good hands with Dr. Lisa. She is the expert on feline nutrition. and she'll encourage you to home test and keep Sue safe. If you read the other posts, you will pick up a lot of good information and you'll see that you're not alone. It seems overwhelming at first, but it is very doable.

jenny can you tell us a few details. what are you feeding sue, and are you home testing?
what kind of insulin are you shooting and how much?
a boy named sue...priceless

Welcome! Mugsy and I are new here too. These people are really great and you will learn a lot - just read the articles and postings. They care, which is the best thing, and they're very helpful. Your baby is in good hands.

Thanks, everyone! Yes, I am home testing and Sue is on all canned now. I am feeding a mix of Wellness grain free, Merrick Cowboy Cookout and I have some Blue Buffalo Wilderness that I haven't tried just yet. The transition to wet has been seamless for almost all 4 of my cats. One threw up two different nights, but seems to be doing better.

Sue is currently on PZI, but after taking Dr. Lisa's advice, will be switching to Lantus tomorrow evening. Cross your fingers for us because he hasn't been successful with the PZI.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm trying to hang in there. Dr. Lisa has helped, but I am a ball of emotions.

Thanks,
Jenny
