Bobbie is our sugar girl and she is special. She is a tabby bobtail with beautiful green eyes. We have 5 other kitties- her brother Judah who is orange. Their late mom was a Wal~Mart parking lot rescue I nursed back to health and got these 2 in return. They are 6 yr old. All our cats are rescues. After our senior kitty died of cancer a few years ago, we decided after caring for her that we needed to adopt a special needs kitty so we found Sadie at our local Humane Society. Sadie lost his eyes before they ever opened when they ruptured due to an untreated infection. So He doesn't have a clue that he can't see and nothing slows him down...unless we forget and leave a laundry basket in the middle of the floor. he is yellow, and almost 2.
Little bit, I call my Chihuahua cat as she is prone to hysterics and if I am sitting she is usually on my lap and she sleeps with me.She is very nervous. She is white with black spots and has a crush on Judah who does his best to ignore her. Harriet is a tortie and she and Bit were dropped off at our house. Harry was pregnant and had Bert under our porch. He is solid black and has a Barney Fyfe complex..he struts around like he is the alpha male but if you say,"Boo!" he will run and hide.
We noticed Bobbie hiding and sleeping a lot and not wanting to eat. Got her to the vet and she spent a week there with pancreatitis. Then came the diabetis diagnosis.
The rest i have posted here.
I got wonderful news from the vet this afternoon. He is young but what he lacks in experience, he makes up for with concern. He said Bobbie's numbers are great and for us to keep doing what we are doing with her- no insulin unless the numbers go up. So we are excited and very happy about that!
It has been so great to have this place to come to to get information. I have had so many questions answered here.
the gang seems to be really good at sleeping!
