Another concern would be dehydration.
Dehydration Checks
Gently pull up the fur at the scruff of the neck and release. if it snaps back quickly, the cat is fairly
well hydrated.If it stays pulled up - “tented”- the cat is moderately to severely dehydrated.
Press a finger firmly on the cat’s gums, then remove. If the gums immediately pink back up, all is well.
If the gums stay blanched white, the cat is dehydrated to some degree. Also, if the gums feel sticky
or tacky (dry), the cat is probably dehydrated.
