My 14 year old cat, Moon, was diagnosed with diabetes a few weeks ago. We started giving him Fancy Feast Classic in addition to their usual dry food, Taste of the Wild. We just yesterday switched them all to a low carb dry food, Wellness I believe, in addition to Fancy Feast 2 a day. We have 3 cats so we usually leave dry food out, hoping to be able to change them over to wet only but one cat is being stubborn.
Back to my question though. We're doing his first curve today, using a True Test meter from Walgreens. His reading was 215 so according to the vet instructions, we didn't give the insulin because it was below 250. So do we just continue to test every 2 hours and not give the insulin until tonight? Or if his numbers go up do we give his insulin then? Unfortunately my vet's office is closed today.
