~ Because many of the cats we take on have already had enough change in their lives it's always our hope when we adopt them out, especially the senior & super senior ones, that they are in their last earthly home for the remainder of their days. That they will not have to endure any further 'upsets' in their short life or have their world turned upside down once again. But sometimes even after the best of efforts things happen that are beyond our control & such is the case for sweet George & Cheddar.
We are seeking a quiet indoor only 'retirement home' for George (17+ yrs) and Cheddar (12+ yrs). We pulled them from our county's public animal control facility on their "last day" in late 2020 where they were surrendered after their person moved to an assisted living facility. We adopted them out in summer of 2021, but we've been asked if we can take them back. Cheddar was recently diagnosed with diabetes & now needs twice daily shots & a special diet to manage it, but due to a life change event & extensive travel for work the adopter cannot provide the care he needs. The boys have been together almost all their lives so we will keep them together. We would like to keep them under the rescue now & find a "lifetime foster" home for them. This is a joint arrangement where (in a nutshell) the foster would provide the 'lifetime' home & love/care for the boys & we would cover all medical expenses & special foods needed for the remainder of their lives. If the home already has an older resident cat-friendly cat or dog that should be ok, they have been around both. Both boys are neutered & up-to-date on shots.
Located in Charlotte, NC but will transport within a couple of hours. Please feel free to email for more details if you feel you can be George & Cheddar's last stop or share with someone you think might have the perfect home - paws4.life@yahoo.com
