In my favorite local shop checking out a new food called " WILD CALLINGS".
A quick look at the label got me interested enough to call. And I'll be darned.. 1 to 2% carbs depending on the flavor and there are several. My guys jumped all over the Salmon so I bought chicken, Duck and Pheasant.
Maybe these will help with a fussy eater.

God bless to you all and your kitties!

BTW Dr, Lynn's link seems to be broken.

Not a newbie just a new account.

Is there an online place to order?
The only place near me is 50+miles away.
Can I ask what you paid? They advertise under $2.99....Gosh hope that's not per can

A Google search for "wild callings cat food" brought up a "Shop for... on Google" link with several online stores where it can be bought. Going rate seems to be around $1.60 per 5.5 oz can + shipping.

I paid $1.59 per can. Petfood Direct has it for $1.54 plus shipping which would be $9.99 per case. I believe for two cases it's free shipping. You can also contact the company for a possible closer company.

Today my 16 year olde did something she never has done. She stood up on her hind legs to get at the food and she ate it all. You open the can and it smells really good.

And Billr mentioned using Google. I have been using Bing.

Good luck.

I e-mailed Wild Callings to try and get the carb amounts for their food but they were only able to give me the guaranteed analysis numbers. It's unfortunate, as the food is priced right and seems to fit the bill for Nikki.

If you call them directly they can transfer you to their WC specialist. That's who i spoke to. Emailing doesn't get you to the right person.

I'm going to have to look for this one. The ingredients sound fairly similar to Tiki Cat, yet it has a couple more poultry options (pheasant and duck) that Mikey might like. :-D

And if the Wild Callings has too many carbs, Mikey will let us know by shooting sky high in his BG numbers, carb sensitive as he is. ;-) ;-)

My thoughts exactly! :thumbup

I would love to find different flavors for my kitties but I don't want to have to buy 24 cans to find out if my cats like it. I guess this isn't something that can be found in a store. I wish they sold a variety pack.

I Just found Natural Pets Marketplace out of Colorado that lets you order it by the can for $1.79.

Shipping is free under ten pounds. I ordered three cans each of chicken, duck, pheasant and rabbit. Good way to test it with your kitty before ordering it a case at a time.

Thanks for the info. My kitties get Tiki Cat canned food in between their raw meal but they are getting a little tired of the same flavors.

How are your kitties doing on the Wild Callings?

Would there be any way to figure out the phosphorus?

Call the company and ask for the WC specialist. He seems to be very informed and would love to talk to you I am sure.

I have already spoken to him three times.

Have you tired the WC yet? If you did, were your Kitties numbers higher?

My cats would not eat the WC samples I ordered

Sorry to hear that.

Mine go ape over the Salmon. It has a great texture, so moist and easy to eat.

Good luck finding what they like. There is another low carb food called Fussie Cat and is around the 2% carb figure or less across the board on the flavors.

Someone else asked about the Fussie cat. Some of the flavors look to be ok, but others have too many carb ingredients.

I haven't gone shopping for cat food yet (I buy a lot at a time so I only go about once a month) but I've got them on my list to look for them the next time, probably some time this week. There seems to be a few places in my area that sell these so I don't have to get them shipped.

ETA: hmm...now looking at their list of where to buy, it looks like only Colorado, but I had looked it up before and it showed a couple of places in Long Beach and San Diego (not too far from me). I'm on my iPhone right now, so maybe the store locator isn't working properly.

I called Fussie Cat and they said the carb value was below 2% in all flavors. I trust they were not telling a fib.

I'll call again and ask.

I will look into Fussie Cat. My cats don't like salmon so I tried the pheasant, duck, rabbit and chicken Wild Calling! foods. They tolerated the chicken. They are still liking the Tiki Cat and I am transitioning off a second snack (Merrick BG and Wellness canned) for my getting-to-be-very-chubby sugarfoster. We've kind of settled in with Raw and Tiki -- Finally! I am also noticing that they don't seem to be very hungry. Could be the end of the summer and could just be that they are satisfied. The Tiki then becomes their grazing food.

I don't see Fussie Cat in my Pet Nutrition store. I will look for it online.

With this list of ingredients, especially all those starch and vegetable ingredients, for the Fussie Cat Premium Chicken with Vegetables in Gravy Canned Cat Food, I don't see how it can be only 2% carbs. Chicken Meat (Boneless, Skinless), Water Sufficient For Processing, Tomato Paste, Carrot, Potato, Tapioca Starch, Green Pea, ...........

This flavor and style might be low carb. Fussie Cat Premium Tuna with Small Anchovies Formula in Aspic Canned Cat Food with these first few ingredients. Tuna, Water Sufficient For Processing, Anchovy, Sunflower Seed Oil, Tricalcium Phosphate, Locust Bean Gum, Carrageenan, Guar Gum..............

Was that the as fed values they gave you or the guaranteed analysis? From the As Fed values, you could calculate the % calories from carbs. That is what we look for. <10% calories from carbs.
