New user with cat that has pancreatitis need advice on Health

Phoenix had a pancreatitis attack in February. That was when he was diagnosed with diabetes as well. The vet told me it is very painful. Is your cat taking any medications and what are his symptoms?

I have my cat on a meat diet not canned food. I also give him raw pancreas that I order from My Pet Carnivore. I tried several brands, but this one works. The raw pancreas helps them digest their food and gives his pancreas a rest. It can also help his pancreas start working again. CAUTION! A lot of vets and people recommend the powdered pancreas. I tried that and ended up with my cat in an oxygen tent for 2 weeks. The powdered pancreas burned his esophagus and he developed pneumonia even though I sprinkled it on his food and followed the directions.
You feed 1/3 of the amount of his food as raw pancreas. My cat doesn't like the stuff. I mash it up and make a little meatball. I tip his head back and open his mouth and pop it in. I follow with a piece of steak or a chicken heart.
I highly recommend the raw pancreas. Phoenix is doing great now but he lost a lot of weight when when he had the attack of pancreatitis. He looked like a starved horse with his bones sticking out. He has regained all of his weight. Please let me know how your cat is doing. I hope I can help you.

Max had chronic pancreatitis. Not all cats need pancreas be fed. Max only needed nausea medication, ondansetron or cerenia, cyproheptadine briefly if not eating, and buprenorphine for pain as needed. Max did not have EPI which does require supplementation with pancreatic enzymes. That usually happens after having pancreatitis for a long time but not always. My vet also stressed feeding small amounts often even if very hungry as if they eat too much at one time they feel yucky and don’t want to eat. Sub-q fluids can be helpful as well provided there’s no hear issues.
