Hi everyone - I'm happy to see a supportive network. Scared to death about all of this life change to my family but especially to my 8 year old Sammy. Anyone have luck with the oral meds vs. injectables?

Welcome!

We have never had anyone successful with the oral meds. It's a waste of money and the time is better spent getting Sammy regulated with insulin. Don't bother.

Hello new today just found out this morning my tinkerbell is diabetic. We will be starting on Insulin the beginning of the week, I am so scared, upset, and nervous.

I feel your stress! We have our vet appointment tonight to learn how to give injections and protocol. I'm grateful that there are people on this board that can share their experience.
 
well, Tinkerbell had her vet appointment today. I learned how to give her injection. I can say that I did it this evening and we both survived!!! It isn't going to be an easy road to go down but with a little hope, prayer and support from this community I think we can do this. Thank you all for the encouragement!
