Hi Everyone!
My name is Amanda. I have been researching on this board and the website for about a month now but have not posted til today and am hoping for some advice
!
My sweet Apple - 7 y/o Orange Tabby Cat was diagnosed on 12/4/17 and shocked me! He had always been a healthy boy but had been on dry food his whole life. I got him from a nice family who were downsizing houses when he was 4 y/o and I was in college.
I recently had a falling out with my vet... I had loved them and bring our dog there as well but they did not believe in changing the diet. They started Apple on Royal Canin Glycobalance and it was okay in the beginning but I started doing more research and turns out that a lot of dry foods are not recommended at all due to the carb value. I changed him to FF Classic Pate and Primal. He has loved it. His water intake has slowed immensely. His behavior is better and just seems to be more comfortable.
My vet didn't agree with me changing diet, didn't agree with me not shooting at a low number, and didn't agree with me home testing. and then told me I had made my cat "my experiment".... it was very upsetting. So I have an appointment with a new vet, Nashville Cat Clinic and I am thinking it will go better.
We are on 3u of ProZinc every 12 hrs. If someone could link me the spreadsheet that would be great... I will get that together but couldn't find it. I have been keeping a manual log. This is my dilemma, he is bouncing and I am trying to find a method to the madness. He was in the 400s yesterday and is now at 119 today.
I would love to share my numbers and see what you all think but definitely don't want to confuse everyone since we are on different timezones. Feel free to guide me in any direction or if I am missing anything.
Thank you for your time!
