I talked to Lori today (thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me), and rather than increase the dose, she convinced me to decrease it down to 1.25 and keep going down by .25 until we can make a true determination. One remark missing from my spreadsheet was the fact that I removed the vet's WD dry food from Alex's diet on 4/22. The next day, his #s were in the blues and I actually skipped the PM shot. So, we're thinking 2.0 units were too high.

Another thing I've thrown into the mix is this afternoon, prior to the PM shot, I did change to the ReliOn meter. It requires so much less blood from the poke and I'm hoping this will make Alex happier.

I'll keep the spreadsheet up-to-date and hope you can review and continue to give input. When more than 2 people give suggestions/recommendations, there's likely to be conflicting opinions. Since I can't increase and decrease at the same time  , I hope those advice I haven't followed won't take offense. Who knows, maybe I will have to increase again down the road!

I am glad you all are here for me and Alex.

Just a tiny tiny correction here.

We talked about her primary problem of difficulty with shooting and testing without getting bite and scratched. I advised a feliway collar as her vet normally needs to tranquilize just to work with him.
Ginny, we don't give dose advice on the phone, just so you know, ok?
We ended up carefully reviewing the chart and AGREED with her first instinct which was to lower dose.

Phone Call was initiated by hard to shoot, hard to test and feliway collars and Venita having one on hand possibly.

Thank you everyone who may get all upset by above post.

Lori

Hope it goes great!!! I am in support of trying what makes the most sense to you, gathering data, and going from there. It's all a process of detective work in many ways, and the more you feel confident that you are on the trail so to speak, the better things are. If you try something and the data shows that's not the right dose, then you have narrowed your options and have a better idea what to try next. Hopefully it goes great and there's no need to try anything else! :-D
