Hi all,
Our cat has been diagnosed with diabetes. We have started him on senvelgo last Wednesday and been monitoring both glucose and ketones at home with a keto mojo reader and a freestyle libre 2.
His blood levels have been brilliant. His ketones levels were 0.2 on Wednesday and 0.7 today. Everyday he had a 0.1 rise. We called our vets to let them know about his ketones going up. They said is to be expected and that as long as he's feeling ok, eating well and being playful, we can keep going till he reaches 1.2, then we evaluate again.
Whats the expected ketones rise in the first 2 weeks. Our vet said that he needs monitored the most now, and once is established he can do well on senvelgo, we can monitor him less.
Would be great to hear of any insight of other users! We are trying to learn while not getting ourselves too overwhelmed with the risks of senvelgo. We are monitoring him every day exactly to prevent anything bad.
