? New pen - new numbers. Question

Hello!
Silvester had very good cycles before I started new pen. The very first cycle with new pen went very unexpectedly. I did an increase for flatter cycles, but also because I started seeing a bit higher numbers with new pen. Have anyone ever experienced different numbers with new pen? It might be a coincidence. One possibility is that I gave a fur shot, and now just have to bring numbers down, or the problem is insulin.
Please share info or advice.

If the new pen has been stored properly and is within the expiry date it should not affect the numbers. Sometimes a new pen will give better numbers if the old pen has been in use for a long time.

You have been getting some good green numbers with the new pen so it should be okay. It could just be a case of some minor bouncing that would have happened even with the old pen.
 
Hi Andrei, When did you start the new pen? Was it the same time you fattened the dose? If so , I am thinking that since you started a new pen which can sometimes be a bit more potent and a tiny dose increase, maybe you are seeing some New Dose Wonkiness.
 
Squallie's crazy numbers happened when I started a new pen, too. Up until then he was doing pretty well. I had wondered about a connection between his higher numbers and the fresh pen, but couldn't find any reason why the new pen should make his BG rise. But I have to say, his BG has been high and out of control ever since.

I started new pen on 7/14 PM cycle. I flattened the dose in 9 cycles after starting new pen. It is not a new dose wonkiness. The very first cycle on new pen showed different results, numbers were just rising. I am thinking that it might be he needs more insulin of new pen, maybe it is a bit different in some way, but then Silvester is still having good nadirs.

Was the new pen from the same box?

Yes, it was from the same box. Unfortunately I didn't mark the exact date we opened the new pen, but it was just around a month ago, and you can definitely see the change in his SS.

Very strange, I have too many things in mind what could cause it.
