Hi there!
New here, via a friend. I'm Sabs and this is my 16-year-old baby Cocoa. She's just added diabetes to her lengthy list of chronic health problems (chronic kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, and possibly calicivirus or something similar). She is on 1 unit of Lantus every 12 h. I just did my first blood glucose strip, which was terrifying, but we got through it. She's going back to the vet for the glucose curve on Friday.
So far I think she's been doing really well with the insulin—before her diagnoses, I thought she was dying, and now I feel like I have my cat back. Her appetite is up and she's way more active. But I know I'll have a ton of questions and I'm glad this forum exists!
