Hello!

The email I got told to verify my account said I should post here. So I am!

One of my cats (white and brown tabby, domestic shorthair spayed female, will be 11 January 2026) was diagnosed March 2024. Been a challenge since then! She's been having gastrointestinal issues somewhat recently, but I found them a new vet that is amazing and reasonably priced (previously I did not think there existed a vet that was both of those things at once! Lol) and we have been working on figuring it out. It's a long road.

My other cat (black, domestic shorthair neutered male, 11 as of September 2025 was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease shortly after my other cat's diabetes diagnosis. A couple months ago he had to start daily preventative treatment for that (Prednisolone), so he's at a high risk of developing diabetes.

I don't have any specific questions at the moment. I joined so that I could share what I know and have access to all the lovely people here and their knowledge. Special needs kitties are no easy task, and it can make a part parent feel very alone and scared at times, so I feel having and being a part of a network like this would be beneficial (for myself and for anyone that I may be able to help one day with the knowledge I have gathered). Helping eachother usually makes things a little less heavy.

Welcome!! What are your kitties names? We'd love to see a picture.

I recommend reading through this page: New? How You Can Help Us Help You!, specifically the parts about setting up your signature and spreadsheet. Even if you don't have any specific questions, it's helpful context for interacting here and saves you time on having to repeat yourself on the basics. :)
