first time post, so please bear with me. I currently have 20 cats, a beautiful torty mother and many of her offspring. The range from 7 to almost 11 years of age.
Had one of my 10 year olds to a trusted vet recently for his wellness test, and he showed up with a higher than normal blood sugar level and a bit in his urine. This was after an hour trip to the vet, and he’s not an ideal traveler. He is not losing weight, and although I cannot follow him around, his drinking and urinating habits do not appear overly excessive. I lost my beautiful Larry to pancreatic complications a bit over a year ago after a courageous battle with phemphagus and diabetes. Still heartbroken.
He goes back in a few days for another blood test. Any thoughts greatly appreciated

Welcome! 20 cats?! Wow. I am sorry about Larry. It always hurts to lose one of our babies, and it can take a long time for that pain to ease.

What's your diabetic cat's name?

His name is Tuckie. Beautiful big gray and white boy. He is one of the original litter of five that we kept all of. All in all, we still
have 17 of her offspring and two unrelated.
This was some time after his mother MummaCat had shown up with Larry who was already about 6 mos. it was Larry
Who survived pemphagus(devastating disease) and diabetes. He had recovered beautifully, but I noticed him moving
slowly. He had a mass, and when they went in, found it attached to his pancreas. There was nothing that could be done.
Tuckie was his best friend, and it just seems ironic that it should happen to him.
I thank you for your kind thoughts
