Hello, I am new to this group and I have a newly diagnosed cat who is 13 years old named Cooper. He has been very sick and when we first took him in, tested positive for ketoacidosis. He spent several days in intensive care and has improved significantly with no current traces of ketones in his urine. He is however, still not eating well at all and has recently started vomiting each day. He spent last night at the vets office on a fluid I.V. and they told us he had become dehydrated. I am giving him subcutaneous I.V.'s at home as well as two insulin injections per day. We have to force feed him with syringes with each injection which he hates and it's not at all pleasant. We will do whatever it takes to get him recovered to have a full life but I feel that the vomiting has more to do than with dehydration. Has anyone ever seen vomiting as a reaction to insulin and if so what did you do? Also, I am concerned because our vet has been wonderful but he has our cat on Humilin N which I am now reading is not good for cats. Any advice? Thanks so much! confused_cat
