New Levemir FlexTouch pens - anyone used them?

My stash of Levemir pens is running out and I need to get my Rx refilled. While I was pricing, I learned that they have new pen - the FlexTouch - which is replacing the Flexpens. Before I refill I just wanted to make sure that you can still access the insulin with a syringe where the needle is usually attached.

It seemed that the design change was more in the other end of the pen, but can anyone confirm that the 'needle' end is still the same?

I just googled and found the video on the Lev site on how to use the FlexTouch pens. It doesn't show the end directly, but the amount that it showed does look different from the old type of end that had the rubber end that you poked through.

Maybe someone else has used the new ones and has a better idea.

I called the company months ago when I found out Lev FlexPens would be discontinued and replaced with the new FlexTouch Pens once current inventory had depleted. I was assured the insulin in the new TouchPens could be accessed with a syringe.

You're absolutely correct. The major changes are in the other end of the pen. The new pens hold the same amount of insulin as the old style pens... 3mL (300 units) in each pen.

Shari, I've been waiting for someone to mention the new Levemir FlexTouch Pens. Is there any chance you could take a close up picture of the end of the pen with a syringe stuck in it so I can add it to our examples of cartridge/pen pictures included in the
Sticky: LANTUS & LEVEMIR - INFO, PROPER HANDLING, & STORAGE? Something like this:

When I refill, I will be more than happy to get you a picture. But it may not be for another week or so.
 
We just got them a couple of weeks ago. For us the only difference is that they are a little fatter and the "windows" on the sides are continuous. It makes it easier to check for floaties.

I'll try to remember to get a picture tonight.
