Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share a little fun/happy story about what looks like a new addition to our family
About a year ago one evening, I heard meowing outside on our patio I looked outside and saw a tiny ginger tabby kitten who seemed lost and confused. I opened the door and it bolted. I couldnt find it and never saw it again. This was the same week my first feline love Edison passed. I remember thinking maybe it was some kind of sign from Edison in my grief but having never seen the kitten again, a year later I had forgotten all about it.

Yesterday evening we had our windows open because it was a lovely warm Carolina fall day and my sweet Bear cat was sitting in the window sniffing and watching the birds.
Suddenly I heard a massive hissing fight unfold and up against the window was a ginger tabby girl young, maybe a year old.

I closed the window as Bear was freaking out and meowing like they do when a strange kitty comes around and then I stepped outside. I looked around and saw this little ginger sweet face peeking out from the bushes. I called out to her to try and get her to come out and she came running towards me! and I mean running!!!
She rubbed all over me and was so cute, so of course I went inside to get something for her to eat. She had no tags or collar and was in good shape. I wondered if she was a housecat that had gotten out or if by chance she was the same little ginger kitten I saw a year ago???

I sat outside for a while and she sat near me on the patio and nervously ate the food, always looking over her shoulder at me but very trusting.
Well, she stayed there all night after I came inside and was still there when I got home from work. Bear was keeping watch over her thru the window sitting on the back of the sofa...

Needless to say I think we may have found a new and unexpected love.... I am going to check with the neighbors to see if she is lost, and if no luck will be taking care of her and think she will likely become a new member of our family!

My husband said she came looking for us just like our others found us. Its an amazing eye opener to me that this has happened because regardless of if we get to keep her or not I know my heart is now open to adding a new kitty.
Need to also see if she is pregnant as I think that kittens/cats return to the area they were born to nest? does that sound right to anyone else?

we have already started calling her "Ginger Rogers" as she is very pretty and light on her feet !!!
Anyway, thanks for listening and for all the wonderful support from everyone on this site.... you are some of the kindest nicest people I have never met ;-)

What a nice story! I also seem to attract cats. About a year ago a very skinny but persistent tabby appeared on my porch. I already had seven cats and didn't really want another one...he wouldn't leave and did the purring, kneading and blinking rountine. He was diagnosed diabetic in early November 2009 and is now part of my kitty family. If you want some friends for your new kitty I have an orange male tabby available for adoption. The more the merrier? Good luck with your new addition. :-). Jan, Nomad (my sugar kitty) and other feline friends. »^^«

Welcome, new kitty!!!

and please let Ginger Rogers know that if she attends any of the kitty gatherings, Binks fancies himself as a bit of a Fred Astaire and would dearly love a dance with her!

what a heartwarming story.
