Hi All ...
< I hope I'm posting in the "right" place ... my apologies if I didn't > !
I'm DeeJay ... and complimenting my life journey at this time are Max, Maya and Thomas. Three furry felines - all rescues - who "found" me.
Maya was diagnosed with Diabetes October 8 and we started her on 1 unit Lantus on October 12. We increased her dosage to 1.5 units on October 17.
I've been tracking her BG morning and night before each shot. Unfortunately I'm the dorky human and it takes me at least 4-5 pokes before I get any blood. Maya is soooo tolerent.
Do I post BG numbers ... because they still appear to be high ??
Maya is raw and no-grain wet fed only ... although she can be a little stinker and sneak kibble from my kibble-addicted Max.
I had one diabetic kitty "Smokey" prior to Maya ... unfortunately the Vet was clueless. We did no BG testing and she had him on Canininsulin. So all of this is new to me and pretty overwhelming.
I've since changed Vets and have one who is much more "in the know" with cats and is open and willing to learn as well.
Any thoughts / assistance is appreciated.
