You can do a food test if you've got otherwise stable data.
Try a mix of 75%/25% old/new food and check mid-cycle to compare to your other data.
If OK, repeat with a 50%/50% blend, then 25%/75%, then 100%.

Mixing slowly is generally safer when trying a new food, to avoid GI upsets. Testing as you go let's you see how the new food affects blood glucose in a controlled manner.

Just compared the ingredients with the same flavor of Friskies pate and they are nearly identical so should be fine for Nick.

Now when you all say you feed Friskies pate - you mean the regular classic pates, I notice they have rice, and I always wondered about that.
Is the rice in Friskies pate ok, or not an issue? Poultry Platter I heard has higher carbs.

I do give my sugardude Wink some of the Friskies pate style foods. Yes, they do have a little bit of rice in them, but not enough to raise the carb content too high. I try not to give him any of the Mixed Grill, because that one is 11% carbs, but he does get 1/4 of his food Friskies, 3/4 Fancy Feast.

Friskies Poultry Platter or Liver & chicken 9%, Turkey & Giblets or Supreme Supper 8%, etc. all from this Food Chartby vet Dr. Lisa Pierson. Look under FRISKIES and they are listed under Classic Pate. Also, the 9-Lives flavors on this chart too now, added early this year.

Everyone here eat Friskies Classic Pate, Maxwell went OTJ on that diet and has stayed there the last 3 years and counting, Autumn on the other hand is sensitive to the carbs in the rice but she refuses to eat anything completely grain free so I just shoot around the extra carbs.

So it would depend on how carb sensitive Nick is and that comes with trial and error.
