Kitties always find me. At first I said it was soon after Smokey. DH said this wee baby needs help and he was ready to go get it. He has already started to set spare room up since it needs to be isolated until vaccinated which won't be for a few weeks yet.

This baby was trapped by a neighbor this morning. It's from a stray mom who hangs around our municipal building. This neighbor already has one from previous litter. She trapped a sibling 2 days ago.

This little furball (approx 5 wks old) has a deformed leg. She said it's missing part of its lower leg but has toes and a paw pad. Like the lower leg on a human is missing but has the thigh and foot. She couldn't spay/neuter and release it back. She was afraid it wouldn't survive out there.

So she is bringing it to me when she gets off work. When she described him (before I saw pictures) it sounded like it was wearing pj's. I have a feeling PJ will be it's name. Other suggestions welcome.

Paula

What a little sweetie!! Love the face markings and that funny expression on his face.

I love the name PJ it just seems to suit him. Somehow fate seems to work its magic and bring together those who need each other.

So so beautiful!

BTW, if anyone in nj wants a kitten there's one living in my garage that could use a home.

Well got this little thing home and let it out in the room. Immediately went behind some storage totes. So letting him chill and relax.

It looks like the one back leg goes to the knee than has a paw pad. The neighbor who trapped it this morning pulled a tick off and gave she/he a bath. Hoping to get a good look at it later to see if we can determine the sex. And going to try to weigh it. I don't think my food scale will be enough and the bathroom scale I doubt will register it yet. About 4-5 weeks old.

The hair is super long and fussy. I hope it will have Tux's type which is silky sleek and easy to comb. Smokey had fine baby double coat long hair, it was a pain to comb. Most times you couldn't get comb through it.

This will be interesting.

OMG!!! You and your DH are such wonderful beans for taking this little PJ in! I'm happy and hope it helps your heart. I can't wait to see more pictures and follow updates Paula. Please give the sweet PJ lots of :kiss::kiss: for me.

Paula - So so so excited about the news. What a lucky little kitty and a whole new life to get to know
As Karen said - please send tones of photos and keep us posted
he/she is adorable

I was just in with PJ. Had to get him out from behind totes. After a few minutes he started purring very loudly and making biscuits. Then rolled over and little tail was moving. Drank a lot but didn't eat yet. I think I have to slurry the food. Then curled up against me so I put she/he in the wicker bed with the big stuffed kitty so it was cocooned with a rolled towel and it's sound asleep.

Oh My look at that wee face!
PJ is an excellent name!
So happy I got nosy and followed the link in Doodles and Karen's post

OMG I can just picture that! How cute! Is he/she even old enough to have been weaned?

Don't know. It's guesstimate age is 5wks. It does have diarrhea with a few blood spots. Probably from worms and not use to food yet. Have to wait it out. It's going to be cold here, so didn't want to leave it on its own since of the deformed leg. Mother cat hadn't been seen in a few days.

Vetty is on the 14th. Which is good. It should be big enough for dewormer, vaccinations and flea treatment then.

Awwww! So glad he has a warm place to sleep and a warm heart to love him! Or her, lol!

Oh Paula, your new addition is awesomely gorgeous! So glad you found each other. That is one very lucky kitty to have you to love and care for him/her. I love the name PJ too. Keep those pics coming....they melt my heart!

Now as for the sex lottery :woot: I'm guessing you've got a little man too!

Funny thing is neighbor caught the mom. Took it in to be spayed. Got a call saying it was a male cat. She said it couldn't be, it's nursing babies. Vet said definitely male.

Neighbor has never seen 2 black and white cats out there. So mom is still out there but hasn't been seen for a few days now.

I had a shepherd when I was growing up and she let my cat "nurse" her. But a male cat nursing a litter........that's funny!
