neosporin + pain relief ointment on after ear pricking

Is this safe? I wonder if my cat licks his paw after pawing his ears, which he does when I put anything on his ears. Is plain neosporin ok? We just started this and I'm hoping his ears will hold out. They look so banged up :sad: already.

Most of us use this and have no problem.

I always poked the inside of the ear, so I was not too worried. I would not glop in on, tho ;-) . Just a small bit, and rub it in good! :mrgreen:
