Can you only get them if a vet writes a prescription? I need to pick up some tommorow but the hospital didn't circle the refill box :( I'm sure I can call them but was wondering in the future if there's a better way to get them? Ideally would like to just buy in bulk like I did with the glucose strips

Some states require prescription and some don't. Some will let you buy a pkg of 10 without prescription. I don't know about your state. Oklahoma and Texas don't....call them before you make the trip. Even if required, explain the situation, weekend and no vet open - they may allow enough to last a few days since they see you've already had a prescription for them.

According to this site, New Hampshire does not require a script for syringes, so you should be able to buy them at any pharmacy. Some pharmacies have their own "policies" though

I don't know why you couldn't get them from WalMart though...and their Relion brand syringes have the half unit markings too! For $12.88 for 100, they're a pretty good deal

Syringes are a controlled item and do require a prescription. The issues with drug abuse make things a bit more difficult in this day and age. Good luck from jand and stewey

NC doesn't require a prescription for syringes either. And it seems to vary location to location, even for the same store chain (we usually go to Walgreens), whether they ask for ID depending on the quantity.
