needle conversion help

so by the chart here on the forums if im using lantus and per dose he gets 1.5 in a u40 needle id dose a .6 correct?

Wait!

Lantus is a U100 insulin and is used with U100 syringes...
The conversion chart is designed for people using U40 insulins (and usually small doses) who want to be able to dose more accurately and so use U100 syringes with a conversion chart.
Have you recently switched from U40 insulin to U100 (Lantus)...?

yes just switched to lantus and have a surplus of the u40 needles

I think you are correct that you'd measure U100 insulin to the .6 mark in a U40 syringe to give you 1.5 units of U100 insulin. But I am so used to using this chart the other way round, that I would really appreciate you hearing from somebody else first before administering insulin! Sorry if that sounds daft, just want your kitty to be safe (my brain is a bit foggy today...)...

Yes, 1.5 units of a u100 insulin is to the 0.6 unit marking on a U40 syringe.
