With work the dry food was easy to use. Now that Oreo is on all wet how do you put out enough food for the approx 9 hours I am gone and have it stay fresh?
Is there some kind of special bowl that stays cool, an ice pack?
I have just left the food out and maybe they eat it all and have to wait until I get home for more?
What should I be doing?
I feed FF and Evo. The FF seems ok left out, but the Evo looks so fresh that maybe I should only give it when I am home and leave FF out for grazing?

I posted this on your other thread so I'll also repost it here. ;-)

I am going over to petsmart today and see if they have a feeder like that. I put out a new post for tips in keeping out wet food for nine hours. Does your feeder have an ice pack or is it ok to keep it out that long?

Depending on the weather you experience, you can add water to it and just leave it out. I live in Southern California so it rarely gets crazy-hot here and never tops 100 degrees so I leave it out all day for them, sometimes up to 12 hours if I'm stuck at work.

I leave my food out all day...........never been a problem as my guys graze. If your house is really warm then put some water in it to keep it moist. You should be okay for the 9 hrs you are gone

You can freeze part of it to be eaten as it thaws. (This also slows down the scarf 'n' barf kitty who eats it all at once, then vomits.)

Those are all great ideas. I added water to the food this am.
My pet sitter will come twice a day for now because Oreo has only had one week off insulin. So just in case his BG goes back up she can do the insulin twice daily.
If he continues to do well and I go away the pet sitter would come once daily. That was fine with dry food out. I did find a cat food bowl called frosty bowlz that have a freezer gel insert for under the stainless steel bowl. I am going to try to buy a couple today.
Having the pet sitter do twice a day will cost a fortune. I don't mind this time just in case, but if he is still OTJ I need to find a way for once a day. It is 20 bucks per day for one visit, starts at 40 bucks for 2 visits and more if she has to inject. Wow!

We have the pet sitter come once daily for our civie. She feeds him and fills up the feeder with frozen pucks that I store in the freezer. Then he is good for another 12 hours…… If you wanted to feed more than that, she could fill more slots with frozen foods and it could go off more often.
