? Need recommendation on this supplement

I'm asking the most well informed group I know. I'm looking for a joint supplement for Tripper & PJ. I started cosequin but I don't know if it's the best. Vet gave me samples of Antinol which is new. Tripper is 15 and has a luxating (sp???) knee with arthritis and what I'm told lots of inflammation. PJ as you all know is missing half a leg and has an old fractured hip and ball. Trying to be proactive with her.

I know green lipped mussel is good and saw this, does anyone have opinions? TIA. Paula

I give my girls 1-TDC. It was very strongly recommended to me by the girls' dentist (who is completely wonderful and who I trust very much). It is for periodontal and joint health. The reviews I have read on it are great. You give it every day for 30 days then every other day. Our 30th day will be today. As a bonus, I believe it is responsible for making Willow's coat even more beautiful than it was before. She is so shiny and soft and fluffy. Mia is also very soft now.

Thank you, I don't see ingredients listed any where. I did email them to ask for it. I like that it has beef flavor as my one gal is only beef motivated.

All I see on their site is this:
1-TDC® is a proprietary blend of fatty acids that are derived from beef tallow and are then formulated into a unique fatty acid complex in a cGMP food-grade facility in the USA. These fatty acids are much different than essential fatty acids you find in products like fish oils and should not be confused with essential fatty acids.

I personally use glucosamine and chondroitin, is that not something that a cat could have as well?

Cosequin is glucosamine. Quintus (and before him Bagha) had it for years for their arthritis. It's particularly useful in early stages to preserve the cartilage that is left. Never had any worries with it.

I just wondering if there was something better than cosequin. I think the green lip helps lubricate joints and has anti-inflammatory properties which she definitely needs.

I really think it is worth you looking into the 1-TDC. Apparently, the way it is absorbed is one of the reasons it can have benefits surpassing things like glucosamine. It definitely acts as an anti-inflammatory. It is used by people and for cats and dogs.

I think i might give it a try. I've read what i could find an it sounds promising. I will finish what i have first, so I got some time yet.

Just came across this in my research for a joint supplement for Darwin. I just tried the Cosequin sprinkle capsules, and Darwin will not touch food with them hidden in. They taste really bitter (almost soapy) to me! I am curious if the 1-TDC capsules can be opened and mixed into food? Darwin doesn't like any treats or chews (and now has no teeth).

It is 'goo'. I guess gel is the correct word to use. I put it on a little bit of shredded chicken, and Mia eats it. Willow, on the other hand, will not eat it. I squeeze it into her mouth. It is quick and MUCH easier than giving a pill.
