I want to switch insulin for Smokey. He is on Vetsulin. He use to be on Prozinc but never had any follow ups once started. So don't know how it worked on him.

I'm thinking of PZI or back to Prozinc. Do any of you have opinions which is better? I will have to order regardless which I use. I read the info on both. Sort of leaning towards the PZI but haven't made up my mind yet. I'm questioning myself again but I want what is best for Smokey.

In the years I have posted here, helping people with first PZI, the ProZinc, then both, I have seen very little difference in the way the insulin acts. The only difference I have seen is the price. PZI BCP is a compounded insulin so some people worry it is different, vial to vial, but I haven't seen that either.

BCP PZI is the least expensive per ml, less than 1/2 the price if ProZinc. Remember that ProZinc is U40, 40 units per ml.
ProZinc, per ml is typically the same or a little less than the human Lantus or Levemir unless y get them from Canada.
Each cat can react differently to an insulin but usually the various insulin work about OK in cats.
I have used all the insulins except Vetsulin/Caninsulin
