need lantus solostar pen!!!

Hi all,
I have a diabetic cat, Peanut, who is currently using Prozinc. I am about to switch him to Lantus solostar (which he had in the past and went into remission for many months) to save on costs. My problem is that I ordered it online from a canadian pharmacy and it was shipped on march 15, but the delivery date keeps getting moved back. I ordered from pharmacyrxworld (if anyone has ordered and believes I should have it sooner, please let me know) It is now saying delivery date of 4/2, my problem is Peanut doesnt have enough Prozinc to wait for the Lantus and I cant afford to buy him another bottle. I have called Sams club, Walmart, the University, as well as a couple small pharmacies and noone will open a 5 pack and sell me one pen :( I have looked on Craigs list and responded to some posts but most of them are older. I have a call into my vet but I know he doesnt carry Lantus, and Im pretty sure he doesnt have smaller vials of Prozinc. I am willing to take either insulin at this point as I am desperate!

I think someone on here mentioned that a hospital pharmacy might sell a single pen .. do you have one of those nearby? And where are you located?

I did msg that one with the bottle for $14 and waiting for reply, however I just called the saint cloud hospital, dont know why I didnt before and they will sell me one for $47 for a pen. So worst case scenerio I can fall back on them. Wow I can finally breath lol!
Now if I could just figure out how to get a picture of my lil peanut on here thatd be great!

Im in MN (Mpls) and was planning on sending out the rest of my lantus to someone in the next few weeks. I think I only have a few pens, but could give you one if you wanted to drive down here. LOL, not sure what would cost more...the insulin from pharmacy, or gas to get down here.

If you wanted to switch to levemir instead of lantus, I think I have 3 pens I would be happy to hand over.

It looks like on the Lantus site you can sign up for and download a "card" in which you pay no more than $25 / pen . i ssume not $25/ 5 box of pens. I am going to see how i can get this to work.
 
Each pen holds 300 units

You never use the "dial a dose" that comes with the pens though...always buy regular insulin syringes and pull the insulin out of the pen like you would a vial
 
Do you have a TARGET store near you? I buy my Solostar Pen's from the Target store pharmacy.

Target pharmacy DOES sell you one pen at a time. You do not need to purchase a package of Solostar Pens.

I had a coupon to get 6 pens for $25.00 each. The Target pharmacy will take your coupon and keep it on file, so you can purchase each pen for $25.00.
 
Most national pharmacies, like Target, don't have a policy re selling a single pen vs a box. It's on a store-by-store basis. That includes the pharmacies at Costco and Sam's Club.
 
I didn't know that Sienne.. Well, her first post didn't say that she checked her Target. She should call there and ask, if they have one near her.
