Hi i am unsure of what to do with my cat jinx. He has been diabetic for over 3 years and been doing well. Over the last 3 months i have noticed that he has been chewing himself raw on his belly and i have had it treated but it keeps coming back. Also just recently we have had issuses with cats pooping and peeing outside the litter box. I just caught him getting ready to poop on the couch today. Not sure if this could be do to a complication from diabetes. I was going to banfield vet hospital but am about to switch to the vet my roommate uses which is right down the street. I just want my baby to be ok. I am hoping that this isnt going to be an expensive visit because i dont have a ton of money. Im just afraid that because he is going outside the litter box that unfortunetly it wont stop and i will have to put him down. I am upset at the thought of that. Dont know if anyone has been through a similar situation

A vet visit is definitely needed.

The super itchy tummy could be fleas, food allergy or hyperthyroid.

When in pain or feeling bad - cats will "go" outside the litterbox to get your attention - let you know something is wrong.
