need help with special kiity food

I am changing over to walmarts special kitty since i have noticed a bit of a change with patches on the sophisticat (petsmart brand) i think they make small changes with out saying and those of us who are on a strict food brand are kinda stuck finding out the hard way...me a slight increase in drinking, so i changed the food the minute i saw this....so far drinking ceased completely again and we are back to running around....sooooo phew....just had a higher number this morning but it was a half hr after eating....we have been diet controlled for 2 yrs this coming july...so dont want a fall back due to a brand of food that changes some ingredients (if thats the case) i am going to attempt to call walmart to get new numbers for their food to make sure all is the same as what is listed on the charts (unless anyone else has done so)

so the turkey and giblets is selling as meaty turkey and giblets and the chicken and tuna is selling as chunky chicken and tuna
just want to know of those feeding this brand if those are the same as listed on the binky chart.....i know for sellling reasons the names are picked but wanted to make sure those are the same as "turkey and giblets" and "chicken and tuna"

I do use SK but only the super supper, mixed grill and when Turkey and giblets comes in the large cans. I have never had a problem with those. my guys never get any fish. or a t least once in a blue moon and I believe it has been what ever was the lowest carb on janets chart. but fish is a rarity here
 
ok i am using the super supper and mixed grill also....mine both like turkey and i havent been able to find the SK in the large cans for the turkey.


ok just to be safe ill stick with the above two and get some fancy feast thrown in.....all i know is im going to start calling a few of the brands i use and try and get the values out of them...cause im tired of switching back and forth!
 
what you are using is fine, FF.... use the classic. they are lo carb and grain free.
they do have the smaller cans 5.5 oz T&G in special kitty. comes in pck of 4 cans. do not know price though
 
I think they did change something in the sophisticat brand food. I was feeding mine the special diet turkey and giblets and noticed that none of the cats are eating it. Friskies i think discontinued their special diet turkey and giblets which mine loved. They seem to like the regualr turkey and giblets dinner but according to J And B food information the phosph is 260 mg per 100 kcal, which is pretty high compared to what i was feeding them. I found it very difficult to find a food with higher protein, less fat, low carbs and low phoph. It seems difficult. And i have noticed that friskies changed their names on some of thier food as well. So i decided to try the friskies special diet meaty bites chicken dinner in gravy and the prime filets turkey dinner and gravy. My diabetic cat is not eating on her own yet so I won't know how that affects her.According to the chart these I hope are ok. But don't take my word on it. With the name changes it seems frustrating to know if this food is ok.

OK then its just not me with the sophisticat.....i try to be watchful in spending and they seemed to really like those and the large cans were nice, but patches seemed to creep up all of a sudden and nothing changed in feeding, but now that we did FF weekend/special kitty during the week, pee level in the litter went from "freak me out" to very little and water intake is zilch again, and he gained some chunk back...so close call! we going almost 2 yrs strong here and did not want to fall back again! thank god for knowing the symptoms when they creep up and we can change food quickly.
 
Not to hijack the thread -but any of you feeding mixed grill know if the new packaging is the same formula as before? Ingredients look the same, but I haven't had a free minute to call.

sophisicat i noticed a difference which is why we are not feeding that anymore, walmarts special kitty? i just started on that brand recently
i swear these companies change things and it throws all the cats off! cat(2)_steam
we are slowly getting out of almost diabetic numbers because of changes they make without making public!

are you getting #'s for the special kitty? ive noticed the dates on the binkys list are quite old....was going to try and get #'S from walmart myself.
