Don't let the feeding tube scare you. It's less daunting than you might think and can be the key to getting your kitty feeling better and eating on her own. I had a kitty many years ago who had a feeding tube and she coped with it very well.

I agree that a quick test for pancreatitis should top of the list when a diabetic kitty is admitted. There are many people here with a lot of experience who can advise.
 
Very sad news everyone. The way Sam was looking before we brought her in and the look in her eye told me she wasn't going to make it but after an update from the vet saying Sam's feeding tube went well and she was up and given food, I was very optimistic and preparing for her to come home and doing my research on caring for her with a feeding tube.

We got a call Saturday night that Sam went into cardiac arrest and they were able to bring her back but she once again went into cardiac arrest and has passed on. This was very shocking and upsetting since they didn't let us visit her after the feeding tube procedure. It has been a tough weekend and we buried her yesterday afternoon by the house. We are going to miss that furball! She had me wrapped around her paw.

Oh my! I'm so so sorry to hear that this happened. We know how hard it is, but know that you did everything right. Fly free, sweet Sam!
 
Such sad sad news. You and Sam fought a valiant battle and you did everything possible to give Sam time and quality. Hold close the spedial memoreis to give you some peace and strength at this time. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I am sorry for your loss. You were great kitteh parents and you did everything you could.

Sam was loved, and knew it. May she fly free and land softly at the bridge.cat_wings>o
