Ok, so I am hoping Bitsy can come home today from the hospital. Because Bitsy is now only 7 pounds; after losing weight from about 12 pounds; they want me to feed her kitten wet food. So my question is what kitten wet food will be good for a diabetic cat to help gain weight and will also help entice her to eat? I do have mirtazipine, and they will be keeping her till she eats a bit more. Though they are hopeful that today she will be able to come home. She went in for not eating and drinking for a couple of days. They believe she has pancreatitis and/or gastritis.

Hi. The insulin vs bgs will be all wonky and all over the place when pancreatitis inflammation in the pancrea. Have they done an UCG of the pancrea to measure the actual swelling size of it? It will heal slowly and with scar tissue areas in it on folllow up pancrea UCG's.

As for food, anything that she will eat, and as much as she wants of it.
Others will help you out of your location.

I looked on the food list and it looks like most of the kitten food are not high in carbs. Pate flavors are usually lower in carbs. Other options are Hills Prescription A/D and Purina Prescription CN. Both of this foods are used to give cats extra nutrition & calories.
Bitsy is home and eating. Yay!
