Hi all,
Last week the vet had me drop down to one unit of Vetsulin If you look at my spreadsheet after a few days you can see he was way too high on one unit so I took it upon myself to raise him to 1.5 units. That seems to be too much as seen also on the spreadsheet.

I am going to drop him back down to one unit as she advised. I was supposed to do a curve on Wednesday after he had adjusted to the one unit but now that I messed with the dose over the weekend I'm wondering if tonight and tomorrow at 1 unit is enough to settle him down or should I call the vet and fess up and postpone the Curve?

Any advice would be appreciate, you have all been so helpful.

Can you eyeball 1.25 u? That might be a better dose for now.
Thanks for responding. I have the syringes that are who unit marks only, and 1.5 is pretty tough so I don't think I could pull that off. If I go down to 1 tonight, will it give him enough time to settle and do a reliable curve on Wed? I feel it will be high but the vet needs to know that, just want to make sure he's going to be regulated back to a 1 unit dose. I don't want to put him thru the curve if not.

I've been thinking what Kris suggested and the 1.25U might be the better dose. How many more syringes do you have before you need to order more? Make sure to get half unit marked ones next time :). You can also use the plunger to draw the 0.25U increment doses on syringes without half unit markings. At least, I was able to get pretty consistent with it, which is the more important thing with those tiny increments ;). Sorry if it sounds kind of confusing, maybe I can get some pictures for you to better explain what I'm saying? lol. Only if you're interested, of course :)

Definitely interested . it's mind boggling to think .25 could make a difference, but I know it can.

It absolutely can. And yes it does not sound like much but those little doses, even drops, can make significant differences. My boy and Kris's Teasel are fans of the +/- a drop doses

I'll try to get the pictures to you as soon as I can :)

Thanks!

Lost track of your thread . Tried to hide my half unit markings so you can see it without.
