I am so confused as to why Tiger's BG is so high in the mornings and sometimes in the PM. His numbers are still all over the place. It has been since Thanksgiving that he was diagnosed. He is still eating good, and seems to feel good. He is on ProZinc, and I just upped his dose to 2 units this morning. Can someone check out his chart and see if they have any advice for us. :?

Re: Tiger has high BG in mornings

Hmmmm. It is hard to decipher. He gets pretty nice nadirs. A week ago he got some nice greens midcycle. It is hard to tell if he is bouncing around (from blues to reds) or if the insulin is wearing off before the 12 hour cycle is done. Any chance you could get some numbers at the +8 and +10 mark? I wonder if he has a late nadir or if he starts right back up about that +8 mark.

When during the cycle does he eat? All wet low carb? Low carb snacks?

Hello Patty,
I'm going to go find someone who can help with Prozinc - may want to change your subject line ( edit your post) to say need help -
Prozinc...
I don't know that insulin.

I will test tonight at +2 +4 +6 +8 and +10 maybe that will help see what is going on. He is eating all wet Fancy Feast and Friskies Pate. He gets boiled chicken for a snack when tested. I test and then he eats and after eating he gets his shot. He eats at 5:45AM and at lunch, usually about noon and again at 5:45PM.

Hi Patty -

Cute kitty! You may want to post on the "PZI" (ProZinc) board under the "Insulin Support Groups". That's where you'll find the most people with ProZinc experience, and you'll have a better chance of having experienced eyes on your questions and SS.

I glanced at your SS and am kinda baffled. My gut says you need more inulin (because of the preshots. But you're getting much better mid-cycle numbers than I ever had on ProZinc. Almost makes me think you'd be a good candidate for TID dosing, but that's quite a commitment to take on.
