Fearless has earned a reduction to .75U starting tomorrow morning. I'm looking at the syringes I purchased that have 1/2 unit increments and the Sticky on Handling, Drawing & Fine Doses, specifically the pictorial guide of fine doses (for .75U, the lower right of the four images). In this image, the bottom of the top ring of the plunger appears to be even with the bottom of the 1U mark and the top of the plunger then aligns with what would be the .75U line (if there were one). However, the top ring of the plunger on my syringes (Carepoint Vet) appears to be much wider (closer to .5U). Therefore I'm going to have to eyeball the halfway point between the .5U and 1U marks. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to make this dosing easier (and more consistent)?

Caliper dosing! I do it when I get syringes that aren't well marked. I use 4" digital calipers from Harbor Freight - about $15 but you can get them many different places. You measure from the stop ring to your set dose and go. There's a good post explaining it somewhere here but I don't have it at my fingertips.

HUGS!
