Squallie is still having PMPS numbers too low to shoot, but his AMPS, although not terribly high, are still in the shootable range. Is there a better way I can dose him to deal with this? I just wondered if there was any way to get to a point where he gets a very low dose AM and Pm to kind of keep his BG more even, if you know what I mean. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I'm no expert with Vetsulin, but you might try a dose like .25 when he's lower like this, but make sure you can test tonight too

IF you haven't fed him yet, you might try retesting him too and see if he's coming up on his own before making a decision

I've stalled for the past couple of nights and he hasn't come up enough for me to feel safe shooting. I'm limited tonight in how much I can test because I only have 3 test strips left but I might try that tomorrow if he has a low PMPS. I'm uncertain of my ability to eyeball .25 so I may invest in some u100 syringes and use the conversion chart to try for .25, does that sound reasonable?

I like Chris' idea of reducing overall. We have ways for you to give drops, if it comes to that. (Pull up a dose you can measure accurately. Use colored water. Let out the insulin by drops, counting as you do. Then the next time you want to give say 3 drops, pull up that dose and let out insulin by drops until you know there are three drops left.). Or get a few U100 needles and use the conversion chart.

I think your 130 tonight is to too low to shoot, especially as you don't have many strips. I think giving a shot in the 180 range is doable - as long as you can monitor.

Thanks! Yes, I wouldn't give him a shot tonight, I'm nowhere brave enough to try to microdose him to shoot at 130, especially without lots of test strips!

After I get more strips tomorrow, I may try reducing overall. I really would like to get him to a point where he stays pretty flat with small AM and PM doses.
