Need help - BG dropped over half at +2

welcome, I feed my cat Fancy Feast Classics either chicken or beef,other are 3% carbs
If you go to the
Feline Health ( Main Forum you will see Dr Pierson's food chart
It will give you names of pet foods, their carb content, protein etc
For the higher carbs I use Fancy Feast Gravy Lovers
I use 15 % for medium carbs and 20 % for higher carbs
You can look and decide what foods you want.

I will definitely ask. I have read the sticky. At this point I’m afraid of giving anything. I’m wondering if his pancreas is trying to kick start. My last diabetic cat one morning was 80 and never needed insulin again. Tonight has been a roller coaster with plenty of panic and tears! Thank you.

we are at 174. Yes, I’m using the AlphaTrak. I only used a human meter because my test strips were late being delivered. What should I do now? Safe to get some sleep? He seems fine, just tired.

Do you think you can get one more test in without any food, maybe in another hour, go take a rest , set an alarm if you have to
 
Can't stay. The general rule as I understand it is:
once in safe numbers, do not feed but test every 30 minutes for next hour, then one more test an hour after that.
if the cat falls below 68 (AlphaTrak), you must respond accordingly and the 2 hour clock starts over again.

basically, the carbs need to wear off and the cat has to show climbing numbers without the benefit of food.

It would be beneficial for understanding your cat's insulin needs if you could get a test or two done in the pm cycles. before bed or if you wake up to use the bathroom. we don't know how low Max went last night to have a morning's reading of 143 (a perfectly fine number but what happened before that?).

Thank you. I will get some tomorrow. He’s not happy with me right now. He’s under the bed. Way too many pricks tonight for him. Time for some sleep. Have to be up in 4.5 hours for work.
